Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

1-3 inches of wet snow existed above a 6-8 inch thick frozen and supportable melt freeze crust on the sun exposed E-SE-S-SW aspects up to 9400 ft. This frozen layer likely formed during the overnight refreeze of the last two nights. Below this frozen melt-freeze layer more wet snow existed. Ski cuts on steep E-SE facing test slopes did cause small roller ball activity in the afternoon. Melting in the morning hours was limited by high cloud cover that prevented full sunshine from reaching the slopes.

On the northerly aspects 2-4 inches of wet sticky snow existed above a crust. Below this the upper 2 ft of the snowpack consisted of a mix of cold dry snow and crusts.
