More detailed information about the snowpack: 

This area has shown evidence of increasing stability. Triggering collapse of the Dec 7 facet layer has become difficult. Propagation tests indicate that if collapse can be triggered, propagation along the weak layer remains possible. A strong temperature gradient remains in place across the height of the Dec 7 facet layer. These facets remain well developed and striated, despite rounding in the major layers of the snowpack both above and below the Dec 7 layer.
