Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Several mm of hoar frost on surface, sun exposure is decomposing crystals during the day.  Old snow has varying consistency at crust, some supportive, some minor collapsing and in extreme shady spots completely breakable under 1 to 4 inches of soft light snow.  Steeper terrain not holding as deep of snow, low angle gullies ski almost above the crust but not really.  Feels well bonded at interface, with some sliding on skins when you don't break the crust with your edge.  Rounded snow grains seemed pretty consistent as deep as pole probe could feel (30 -40 cm).  Light east wind in gusts.
