Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Wind slabs in near and above treeline terrain in this area had a very high variation in degree of thickness and distribution on all aspects. All observed wind slabs were supportable hard slabs. All informal tests and most formal tests indicated good stability. A handful of ECTP results yielded a very rough shear quality (Q3) in the layer of lower density rounded snow crystals below the wind slab. Overall slab thickness was noted to vary from 5cm to 15cm over less than 1.5 horizontal meters in many areas.
