Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

We dug a pit and did a compression test near the top of Scout Peak.  The third shoulder hit produced a failure on a weak layer approximately 30" down from the surface.  Ski cuts on test slopes also produced some slab behavior but cracks were not propagating easily.  Our biggest concern of the day was managing sluff within the recent storm and wind blown snow.
