Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Stable snow conditions on Silver Peak. Wind slabs and weak cornices that existed in this area two days ago have since stabilized. Supportable crust conditions under recent storm snow on solar aspects up to the summit at 8,400'. Crust was found via hand pits below the recent storm snow on NE-E aspects below 7,600'. Some faceting was noted below the crust, but layer bonding remains strong at this time. Some very minor wind transport by NE winds was observed in the morning. Above treeline N-NE aspects are heavily wind scoured, all the way down to the Dec 2 rain crust in some areas along the East Ridge and near the North Summit of the peak.
