Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Stable snowpack with mixed snow surface conditions observed in the Fireplug area. Below treeline areas on northerly aspects hold a few inches of cold unconsolidated snow in wind sheltered areas. At noon, 1 to 2 inches of wet snow existed at the surface on S aspects at 9,100'. Low sun angles and January level solar radiation kept wet snow from forming on all but SE-S-SW aspects including flat areas with sun exposure.

Photo: On Tamarack Peak, near treeline and above treeline areas on NE-E aspects are heavily wind scoured.
