More detailed information about the snowpack:

A light dusting of new snow existed on top of firm frozen rain crusts in this area. On the north aspects the rain crusts were thin and breakable and several of them existed within the top 2 inches of the snowpack (see attached pit profile). Wind scoured features still existed on the exposed NE aspects. On the southerly aspects the rain cursts were thicker and more supportable and existed on top of frozen melt-freeze crusts. Below this 2-6 inch thick frozen layer the snow remained wet on the southerly aspects. Evidence of wet roller ball activity and some wet point releases that occurred yesterday also existed on the southerly aspects.
