Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

many large and noisy whumphs among the trees in the lower flat part of the bowl and then on the slope going up to the ridge, slope was about 25 degrees up to 30. No visible change in the surface when collapses occurred, no cracks. Dug a small snow pit down around 15 to 18 inches sugary snow on top of hard layer. Since no surface expresion took a safer route up to the ridge, nothing slid did a few runs on slopes up to 35 degress, no problems. Certainly the whumphing caught your attention very odd no surface expression of movement.
