Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

The snowpack was shallower in this area with max depth of 15cm (6in) observed. This is likely due to the absence of previous wind loading. An overall similar snowpack structure to what was observed on Tamarack Peak existed with surface melt-freeze crust over facets to ground level. At the snowpit location, surface melt-freeze crust was thinner but harder than observed in other higher elevation areas, despite a more northerly, shaded location.
