Old rain crusted snow with fresh cold snow starting about 8000.  By 8500 the crust was bonded and firm but released snow with ski pressure.  Several sloughs in steeper terrain that entrained snow and carried to run outs leaving rain crust as surface.  Worst sloughs ran 200 feet and deposited 16 inches deep.  Some wind crust forming at near and above tree line with wind transport active.   Very little sun effect and really, quite good skiing once you got to the solid snow pack.  Used the low line just above the creek to get out from high in the upper meadow and only walked one section to link back to road and skin track.
