More detailed information about the snowpack:

Morning NW winds and cloud cover prevented excessive surface melting on solar aspects. Ski pen limited to 5cm from 10,000ft to continuous snow line at ~7,500ft. Cloud cover cleared in early afternoon, causing solar aspects to become sticky, but crust layer 5cm down remained supportable. No signs of consequential wet instabilities observed today.

Pic: Freel Peak as seen from High Meadows. All but the steepest N aspects are now receiving some solar input.
