Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Little to no refreeze of the snowpack occurred in this area last night. Wet snow was observed on all aspects up to the high point of travel at 7,900'. Wet snow conditions likely extended significantly higher on the peak. Despite the wet snow, there was very little free water production occurring. This allowed for supportable conditions both on skis and on foot in mid and low elevation areas at noon. Max boot penetration observed was 4 cm. The snowpack in this area below 8,000' is in good condition to handle the rain on snow event expected tonight.
