Observed small 3-4mm surface hoar on N-NE-E aspects at 12:30 hours at the location listed above, elevation 6,620, on a low angle tour with my dog. The surface hoar had survived unfiltered morning sun and above freezing temps and may survive through the day as thin cloud cover had veiled the sun by the time of the observation. Continous coverage in this area but still not enough depth to ski Echo's lowered east slopes.
