Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

25-35cm of settled storm snow over a supportable base in this area.  Very light wind effect here over the last 3 days with the NE winds - limited to the uppermost terrain near treeline below summit.  On an E aspect (8537', 28 degree slope) and N aspect (8720', 25 degree slope) ECT's were done to test the weaknesses near the 12/10 and 12/13 rain crusts.  4x ECTN's were recorded just below the 12/13 rain crust with no results below the 12/10 rain crust.

2-3mm surface hoar was found in open terrain protected from the wind and sun.

Photo#1:  Settlement cones common thoughout tour today.

Photo#2:  2-3mm surface hoar survived throughout the day on wind/sun protected open terrain.
