Observed Surface hoar in isolated wind protected areas. Also noteworthy is the temperature gradient in the upper portion of the snowpack is very large creating lots of faceted snow and disintegrating crusts. In leeward areas above 9500 you could find 5 inches of unconsolidated snow on a crust.
