Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Approx 5cm semi supportable rain crust from road to approx mid point of climb.  Cold soft consistant consolidated snow surface above that in primary ski zones.

Pit dug at N facing 34deg slope just below final approach bowl to summit.  Approx 180cm total snow depth.  1cm crust on fist to fourfinger to one finger upper snow pack.  Easily identifiable facet layer at approx 60cm above old crust layer.  Facets are loose and identifiable without magnification, but do clump slightly.  ECTX on upper snow pack.  I cleared the upper appox 80cm snowpack from the lower snowpack at approx the new snow level to try to isolate and test the facet layer, also because I don't have a 180cm saw to isolate the column from the top.  ECTP-8 Q1+ on the facet layer when tested in this manner.  Facets break easily and cleanly and column falls into the pit.
