Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

The overnight refreeze in this area was not as strong as seen in other areas yesterday and was mostly due to radiational cooling.  Treed areas that did not benefit from overnight radiational cooling were punchy and soft in the mid morning hours.  Open areas with good snow coverage provided corn snow with supportable conditions.  In areas with low snow coverage below 7600', snow surface conditions were not ski supportive by mid day.  No signs of any loose wet instabilities observed.

Testpit dug at 38.867858, -120.071509, N aspect, 8,400', 35 degree slope angle.  Layering identification and CT's showed no indication of any problematic layers within the upper snowpack.
