Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Soft unconsolidated surface snow existed on steep shaded aspects in below treeline terrain.  Higher elevation exposed terrain was a combination of wind scoured firm crusts, supportable wind board, and breakable wind crusts.  Solar aspects softened by early afternoon on SE-S aspects below 8800' with 3-4'' of transitional surface snow.  Very minor roller balls did occur on steep test slopes with a ski cut-see photo.  The NE winds increased throughout the day and were moving minor amounts of snow on the highest peaks and ridges.  No other signs of instabilities were observed.
