Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Good spring conditions on south aspects of Castle Peak.  There were light to moderate southwest winds which helped maintain a supportable snow surface later in the day.  On our climb up boot penetration was between 5cm to 10 cm.  During our descent at 3:00 on south aspect we had 5cm to 10cm of MF on top of a supportable crust.  More easterly aspect at the same time were showing signs of surface refreeze.  During the day we saw no signs of roller balls or pin wheels.
