More detailed information about the snowpack:

Observations from Carpenter Valley have been consistent with other areas throughout the forecast area.  Snow surface conditions in wind protected below treeline terrain have up to 1' of unconsolidated snow while exposed areas are wind scoured and in places down to firm rain crust.   Noticeably warmer conditions today with sticky snow conditions below 7000' on North aspects and some small roller ball activity occurring.  No signs of surface hoar on tour.  There was no weakness associated with the 12/24 rain crust at pit location with no results from snowpack tests.  At lower elevations below 6800' there was loose faceted snow below the rain crust with HS only around 40-50cm.  Still, hand pits did not reveal any instabilities.
