More detailed information about the snowpack: 

The surface hoar that formed last night was still very present by 15:30 today, indicating that it is at risk of being buried by tonight's incoming snow. Areas directly exposed to the sun were showing signs of melting by the afternoon, but all shaded and partially shaded slopes were harboring intact .5-1cm SH. I also received a report of significant SH growth above 8000' on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe.
