Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

4-8'' of new storm snow fell in this area above 8500'.  Most of this new snow fell on previously bare ground with the exception of north aspects above 8800' that had small amounts of previous snow.  The old snow was made up of mostly faceted grains and was only around 3-4'' in depth.  Many anchors exist in this area-like rocks, bushes, trees, etc.  For the most part, over the snow travel is very limited to not possible in this area at this time.

Besides some isolated cracking on wind deposited features, no other signs of instability were observed.
