Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Good overnight freeze with light to moderate E winds.  Snow surface was a firm crust that was softening on the top 1-2''.  There was evidence of minor new snow in this area but most had been wind scoured by the last 2 days of gale force winds.  Small wind deposits were found on SE aspects mostly 2-4'' with the most found up to 6'' deep.  These wind slabs were not found to be reactive during the late morning but were warming with full sun and becoming heavy and thick.  Minor roller ball activity was limited to areas where this new wind blown snow existed.
