More detailed information about the snowpack: 

A shallow, but mostly supportable snowpack exists in this area above 7200'.  The upper snowpack is made up of mostly near surface facets and wind scoured surfaces in exposed terrain.  The lower snowpack is firm rain crust.  Snow coverage ranges from dirt up to 3' depths in protected northerly aspects around 7600'.  FS road 12 is mostly snow covered from the trailhead.
