Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Settled recent storm snow of 3-4'' exists in wind protected areas.  Wind scoured snow surfaces exist along ridges and in any open areas exposed to the recent NE wind event.  The recent winds have redistributed snow and have left many areas with variable snow conditions.  In protected areas below treeline, the recent 3-4'' of storm snow sits on top of old near surface facets.  This upper snowpack sits on top of a firm rain crust that in colder areas is deteriorating and faceting.  Northerly aspects are holding good snow coverage in this area.  No instabilities observed throughout the day.
