Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Approximately 45cms of new snow present at the 8000 elevation on Luther Pass. Below the fresh snow, the layers quickly transitioned to a mix of wet new snow and larger wet grains.

Low angle slopes above Grass Lake appeared to retain evidence of rain runnels beneath the fresh snow.

Tree branches hung low with heavy snow and were dropping large amounts of snow as we left the area around 3pm.

Pit was dug in an open area below tree line. There was no evidence of wind affected snow in our location.
