Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

In the lower elevation winds were calm. There was 2" to 3" of new snow on top of a 5" supportable rain crust.  The snow surface was wet on sunny aspects.   A few hundred feet higher the winds were 5 to 10 mph from the NE with increasing clouds.  On E-NE-N aspects there was a thin breakable crust on the snow surface.  Below the crust was 1" to 2" of unconsolidated snow on top of the rain crust which became thinner and less supportable the high in elevation we went.  We saw no signs wind slabs or recent avalanches.
