Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

A mix of snow conditions existed on Incline Lake Peak today. On E-SE aspects at all elevations, previous sun-exposure left behind a breakable sun crust up to 1 inch in thickness. Cloud cover and winds today kept this crust frozen all day. On N-NE-E aspects in exposed above treeline areas, wind scoured surfaces including exposed rain crusts, sastrugi, and some patches of softer wind scoured snow existed. On sheltered near and below treeline N-NE aspects, soft unconsolidated snow still remained. No signs of lingering instabilities were noted during the tour except that ski kicks would still cause overhanging cornices to break. Snowpit data indicated a well bonded and consolidating snowpack.
