Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Rain turned to snow by 11:30.  A thin rain crust had formed on all aspects we toured S-SE-E-NE.  Winds varied with elevation.  Light to moderate from SW at trailhead to light ENE at pit location.   Snow intensity was just under an inch an hour during the tour.   In the wind exposed lower elevations we found soft wind slab within the new snow.  In the sheltered treed terrain there were density changes in the new snow but no obvious wind slabs.
