Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Only sign of instability today was a small collapse (that we could not duplicate on similar terrain) during our approach to this location.  Why this isolated piece of snow collapsed is unkown (buried tree?)  Two shear planes identified in the upper 30 cm of the snowpack but no sign of propagation on these with either ECT or PST.  Cold, clear, calm most the morning.  Soft surface snows made for fine skiing.  Measured with NASTC L2 class.
