More detailed information about the snowpack:

Before noon, the snow/rain line was around 6800 feet but moved higher by 2:30pm. A few loose snow slides were visible before noon between 6700-7200 feet but many more were visible after 2:30pm as the rain line moved upward.

Between 7500-8000 feet heavy snow was present and it was snowing very hard. Strong west winds were moving some surface snow but perhaps less than expected due to the heavy surface conditions. Jumping on below tree line test slopes did not reveal instabilities.
