Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

2 to 10 mm of surface hoar was observed and widespread in areas sheltered from wind and direct sun in below and near treeline terrain.  On the N aspect there was light density cold snow with a ski pen of 30cm.  This light density snow was on top of successive layers of firmer supportable snow.   The Jan 8 rain crust is 80cm down at this location and there was no evidence of previous wind transport at this elevation.

On E and SE aspects the snow surface varied form a wet surface to a thin 1cm breakable crust.
