More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Settlement cracks showing some consolidation in the upper snowpack. These did not indicate that the lower persistent weak layer was gaining strength as evidenced by other observations in the area today showing unstable test results on the deeply buried persistent weak layer. Handpits in wind exposed areas also indicated that wind slabs have not fully bonded to the snowpack below them. Click here to see more details on today's other observations.
