More detailed information about the snowpack: 

No signs of slab instability seen through informal observations on W-NW-N-NE-E aspects in above treeline terrain on Mt. Tallac today. Some small skier triggered dry loose activity was encountered in shaded NE aspect terrain over 40 degrees in slope angle at around 9,000'. Natural roller ball activity from previous days and some from today was observed off rocks on solar aspects, mainly below 8,500'.

Surface snow on E aspects was in melt phase below 8,000' and on NE aspects below 6,700' at mid day. NE aspects were undergoing the first melt cycle for the current surface snow.
