Ski penetration into the deep wet snow on S aspects around 7000 ft. at noon was about 6 to 7 inches and boot penetration was knee deep. Before the refreeze melted there was a brief window of time when more supportable spring snow conditions existed. On the E-SE-S aspects, the supportable conditions disappeared by 10:30-11 am and on the SW-W-NW aspects they lasted till closer to noon.
