More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Pic 1: Winds calmer than forecast, with the occasional moderate SW gust. Lenticular clouds indicating stronger winds just above ridgetop level.

Pic 2: The top 30cm of snow observed to be wet and weak in the afternoon due to combo of relatively calm winds, thin high clouds contributing to "greenhouse" effect, and warm temperatures. We avoided steep sunny terrain so did not see Wet Loose activity, but informal obs and snowpack structure indicated this could have been a concern today in the wrong terrain. Even N, NE aspects held wet, weak snow at the surface in the afternoon.
