Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Top of ridge held dense layer of wind blown snow with obvious scouring marks on the surface. Below treeline new snow was 6 to 12 inches deep from wind deposit with incredible seasonal snow depth covering most of the forest.  New snow felt dense and cohesive with no density changes from top to old snow interface.  Old snow was soft enough to push a pole handle through a short distance.  Very short cracks from ski compression while breaking travel with no propogation.  No cracks or fractures observed skiing the nose of the hourglass.  Small cornice on top of Proletariat did fracture a few inches deep but did not propogate or move any distance.
