More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Southerly aspects undergoing melt. Surface melt-freeze crust formation expected to occur on southerly aspects.

Northerly aspects escaping melt due to low seasonal sun angle. Fairly cold snow surface temp of -8C at mid day, surface hoar present. Fairly dense thin surface wind slab is skier supportable. Snowpit tests show minor weakness at the interface of the bottom of the slab and recent new snow below. No indication of problematic propagation/instability with current snowpack load. Some indication that a significant future load would warrant investigation.
