Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Significant snow loss in this area since visit on 1/31. Adequate snow for travel on skis not present on aspects that receive sunlight. North facing aspects below 7500 feet are holding about the minimum amount of snow required for ski travel. 

On North facing aspects thin melt freeze crust was widely present even in highly shaded areas. Beneath this thin crust soft wintery snow remained, except under the tightest of tree cover. Multiple compression tests produced hard failures and broken fracture character. Several ECTs did not produce propagation.
