More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Unreactive facet layer found near Meiss Meadow today in very open, NE-facing, near treeline terrain. CTs, ECTs, and PST all indicated that a failure would be difficult trigger in this area and unlikely to propagate. 

Surface snow was wet on all aspects when approaching from Carson Pass midday. When exiting late in the afternoon, north to east aspects had begun to refreeze, with a 1cm crust at the surface. Southerly aspects were still wet at this time.

No precip until late this afternoon, around 4pm, when very light graupel began to fall. Winds and cloud cover both increased throughout the afternoon.
