More detailed information about the snowpack:

Warm day with high cloud cover and light winds.  Below 9000', surface snow was moist on northerly aspects with small roller ball activity widespread in steeper terrain.  Sun crusts have formed on southerly aspects.  The near crust faceted layer that has been found at other locations throughout the forecast region was also found here.  While signs of instability were limited at this location, a PST indicated that if failure could occur on this weak layer then propagation would be likely.

Snow surface conditions became slow and sticky below 8500' and especially under trees due to tree drippings.
