NE aspect below treeline with 2 to 3 ft crown visible. Slope angle ranged from 32 to 44 degrees. Skier's left side of crown and debris. Skier's right side of crown and debris. Crown of 2-3 feet with 8 inches of storm snow on bed surface. ECTX and CTH-Broken results in crown at 11:45am. This is the maximum amount of cracking we observed today in areas of wind slab. Snowpack Observation
Stevens Peak

Carson Pass Area
Height of recent new snow in a gully on generally north east facing terrain. General coverage on Stevens, but I thought the reverse ski tracks in the lower section of this photo showed the variable nature of the conditions. High clouds with occasional patches of blue sky. Ample soft snow hiding in shady zones. ECTN 17 with the crust zone being the weak layer. The crust is mostly broken down in this area. Hand hardness with the old crust area being around 155cms in this location. Professional Observer

First avalanche triggered at ~8,700' by intentional ski cut. Moving below 7,800' these avalanches could be triggered by ski cuts on just about any convexity about 34 degrees and steeper. At around 7000', this storm slab/loose wet hybrid triggered by ski cut. Avalanche debris into trees below. Forecaster

Snowpack Observation
Donner Ridge

Donner Summit Area
Ski kick triggered crack on a NE facing wind drifted test slope along the ridge @ 7800 ft. A ski kick triggered a small cornice piece that fell onto this slope and released a 8 to 10 inch deep soft wind slab on the test slope below it. NE facing 7800 ft. Poor visibility due to blowing snow and flat light Forecaster
